Kim Hudson Bio

Kimberly Bruner Hudson was born on December 31, 1973. She grew up in Walton, Indiana, a small farming community in North Central Indiana. She and her younger brother, Matt, were raised there and graduated from Lewis Cass High School. Her parents, Harold and Debbie Bruner, and her brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Linda Bruner, live in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Kim attended Purdue University for two years before transferring to Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology. Kim then attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She graduated from Cumberland in 2000 and passed the Alabama Bar. She practiced law for three years at Davis, McLaughlin, and Muncie in Auburn, Alabama.

Personal

Kim met Tim while they were students at Auburn University. They were married on October 23, 1999. They have 2 daughters, Kennedie and Tess, and one son, Kade. They also have a Springer Spaniel named Jax. They live in Peachtree City, Georgia and are building a home in Auburn, Alabama.

Community Involvement

Make-A-Wish Foundation

  • She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama.
  • She is the chairperson for the annual Walk for Wishes at Atlantic Station.
  • She and Tim are ambassadors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation throughout the baseball season by helping fulfill children’s wishes to visit Turner Field and meet Braves players.
  • She and Tim are honorary co-chairs of the annual Celebration of Wishes Gala, and she is on the Auction Committee involved in securing auction items for the event.
  • She and Tim participate in the annual Stories of Light Campaign.
  • She and Tim host an annual Toys R Us shopping spree and Christmas party for 75 Wish children and their families.

Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta

  • She and Tim host a golf tournament each year during Spring Training called Birdies and Baseball.
  • She and Tim host a 3-course golf tournament in the summer called the Smoltz-Hudson-Francoeur Celebrity Am. She is in charge of the live and silent auctions at that event.

Atlanta Braves Foundation

  • She helps collect toys for the annual Braves Wives Toy Drive at Turner Field.
  • She visits children and passes out toys during the annual “Christmas in July” hospital visits.
  • She sells autographed baseballs during the Brown Bag Bonanza.
  • She participates at Baseball 101 by sharing her experiences with fans at a baseball clinic.
  • She participates in the Hosea Feed the Homeless and Hungry Campaign that provides food and care to homeless and needy citizens of Atlanta.
  • The Unofficial Braves Power Rankings – an unofficial blog about the Braves Wives ranked Kim number one in power rankings, citing her leadership in the organization’s charitable efforts.
  • In 2008, she was able to work with the Moyer Foundation to put in place the funding needed to bring Camp Erin to Atlanta. Camp Erin is a bereavement camp designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, friend, or loved one. The first Camp Erin-Atlanta will take place April 25-27, 2009.
  • She also actively supports several other charities in the Atlanta area, including CURE Childhood Cancer, Anna’s Angel Fund, and the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
